The actress is also famous for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for being the character the character of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner in The Starz program Power. The actress has also received recognition by her stage performances such as her starring parts in Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway for which she received the Tony Award was won for Best actress in a Musical.
