Anika Noni, an American actress and vocalist. She is best known for voicing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess In The Princess and the Frog. The Disney Company named her a Legend in 2011. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robertson, the character in Dreamgirls that won an Academy Award. Anika Noni Rose (born September 6 1972) is an American performer and actress. Most famously, she is known for playing Tiana The Princess as well as the Frog's 2009 African-American Princess. She was named a Disney Legend in 2011. Her name was also honoured for her performance on the screen in Dreamgirls (2006) that earned an Academy Award for Best Picture. In the Starz show Power she played LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. Alongside her acting work, she's known for the roles she performed in theater. They include Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway version of Caroline or Change (2005) for which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Musical was presented as well as Beneatha as part of the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun (2017) for which she received the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were made.
